12.1.2  System Administrator and Normal User

12.1.2.1    System Administrator

A system administrator is a user account that is used to install a system or to manage critical tasks or privileges on the system. In the Raspberry Pi system, "pi" and "root" are provided for system management. If you want to use other user accounts besides the default user accounts, you need to create a new account.

   "pi" user account

It is usually used by system administrators to work on the system, and is used as a default logon user when logoning directly to the GUI when booting.

   "root" user account

It has the privileges to do all the work on the system. It is not normally used as a logon user, but if necessary, it can also be used for logon purposes by specifying a password for the user account and activating it.

12.1.2.2    Normal User

A normal user is a user account that can connect to an already installed system and work on a pre-specified task with a pre-designated authority. For these normal users, the tasks and privileges that can be performed are limited in advance by the system administrator, and it is not possible to perform operations beyond the privileges. If additional tasks or privileges are required, you must ask your system administrator for approval.
